The
free market ~ Mandalay, Myanmar

We have come across shops all over Asia carrying product that could pass for landfill back home. Broken radios, scraps of metal, torn up microphones and this shop selling nothing but rusty springs of every shape and size. It goes to show that nothing encourages recycling like poverty. Societies in the west long enjoyed the luxury of discarding used up items and are only now realizing even we cannot afford to continue to do so. The expense of disposable consumables cannot be measured in currency. It is costing us the environment. |
